As part of the Flying Trade Group, Modern Packaging is expanding and seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our printing and packaging operation in Pershore.
Summary
'Flexographic Printer Operative' based in Pershore is a vital role within our manufacturing team. You will be responsible for supporting the production process by preparing and handling laminated food products, ensuring quality standards are met. Join us in delivering authentic global flavours to markets worldwide.
48 hours per week, across 4 days with rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and printing high quality designs up to 8 colours onto Flexible plastic substrates and paper
- Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and productivity to make sure efficient day to day running of wide web flexographic printing press
- Ensure that press speeds are optimised, maximising uptime and minimising downtime. Continually checking on safe and efficient operation
- Following an appropriate trouble shooting activity escalate maintenance issues
- Pro-active approach so the print machine always runs smoothly; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess, evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify
- Report issues to the Quality department that may affect output throughout the shift
- Maintain good housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas – 5S auditing
- Maintain stock levels of all necessary materials to fulfil the shift efficiently
- Dealing with solvent- based inks
- Have the experience and knowledge to provide support and training to any new starters or personnel
- Responsible for basic maintenance and cleaning of print machinery
- Comprehensive handover carried out after every shift
Qualifications
- Proven experience with fabrication or mechanical assembly is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lamination and Slitting processes
- Ability to operate hand tools and machinery safely.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good understanding of basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Previous warehouse or production experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually.
- Commitment to health and safety standards.
- Previous experience of flexographic print minimum of 3-5 years
- Manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business.
- Follow BRC Code of Practice.

Pay: £13.50-£18.00 per hour
