Football Coach
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and knowledgeable Football Coach to join our growing coaching team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing young players and have the confidence to deliver engaging, high-quality coaching sessions in a fun, safe and positive environment.
We are looking for coaches who understand long-term player development and can deliver sessions focused on technical excellence, particularly ball mastery, 1v1s, 2v1s, decision-making and game-based learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate football sessions centred around ball mastery, individual technique, 1v1s, 2v1s and decision-making.
- Progress sessions effectively to challenge players of all abilities and support their ongoing development.
- Confidently lead and manage training sessions, maintaining a positive, organised and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide constructive coaching and feedback to help players develop technically, physically and socially.
- Adapt sessions to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities while ensuring every player remains engaged.
- Create a fun, safe and enjoyable environment where players can build confidence, express themselves and develop a lifelong love of football.
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, professionalism and player welfare at all times.
- Arrive fully prepared, be punctual and reliable, representing the club and academy professionally.
- Work collaboratively with fellow coaches to ensure consistency in coaching standards and player development.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience coaching children in football is essential.
- Strong understanding of player development and the ability to deliver sessions focused on ball mastery, 1v1s, 2v1s and technical development.
- Ability to confidently organise, manage and progress coaching sessions.
- Excellent communication skills with players, parents and fellow coaches.
- Enthusiastic, energetic and able to motivate young players in a positive manner.
- Reliable, punctual and professional with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of FA coaching principles and safeguarding best practice.
- FA coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential. Ongoing training and development opportunities will be available for the right candidate.
Working Hours
Sessions will take place across Bookham and the surrounding areas, primarily on midweek evenings and Saturday mornings.
There is excellent potential for additional coaching hours as the academy continues to grow.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £20.00-£27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 15.0 per week

- Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
