Postman Productions is a small film production company working predominantly in sport. We make documentaries and educational resources for sports governing bodies, primarily The ECB. Our work is designed to inform, develop, and serve the people inside the game - from high performance environments to the junior recreational level.
We're looking for a Camera Operator and Editor to join the team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to develop their craft in a small environment where they'll get real responsibility from day one. Most of our work sits in sport, so a real interest in the subject matters as much to us as technical ability.
The role
- Film and edit short-form and long-form content
- Contribute ideas during planning and edit reviews
- Edit videos with care for pacing, tone, and message
- Work closely with senior staff in a small, close-knit team
A lot of what we shoot is unscripted, so you will need to be comfortable finding and crafting a story within the footage you are given. This is a difficult skill which takes time to develop and so we are not looking for the finished article at this stage but you do need a foundation to build on. Our primary deliverables are long-form landscape films that need to hold attention for minutes, not seconds. Vertical cuts get made, but they're a secondary version rather than the starting point.
Rhythm of the work
Production isn't linear. Summer tends to be heavy on filming as that's when the sport happens. This can involve travel, early starts, occasional overnight stays, and days that can run past six. Winter tends to be more edit-led and much closer to standard hours. The salary reflects the average across the year rather than the rate for any given week.
Who we’re looking for
- Someone with a genuine interest in sport
- Someone with a can-do attitude, desire to learn and willingness to go the extra mile
- Comfortable operating cameras (Sony FS7, DSLR, etc) in both controlled and uncontrolled environments
- Creative eye and interest in storytelling.
- Based in London
- Full driving licence preferred
What We Offer
- Real creative ownership, not just shadowing or legwork
- Hands-on experience across the full production process
- Opportunity to build a strong portfolio
- Close mentorship working directly with the senior personnel
The details
- Full-time, permanent, with a 6-month probation period
- Hybrid working: on-site for shoots and edit reviews, remote for editing days*
- £26,250 per year
- Based in South London
- Start date: 10/08/2026
*You'll be on-site more or less full time for your first month while you settle in.

- A short screening call
- A second-stage interview in person, which will include an edit test
Please apply with:
