Nursery Practitioner and SENCO opportunity at Mornington House Day Nursery in Clifton, BS8 2UU
Do you love working with children and guiding their learning and development? Do you have experience of working as a SENCO and supporting children with additional needs?
We are recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner and SENCO for Mornington House Day Nursery in Clifton. This is a full-time role – 40 hours per week, year-round. Applicants must be available to work shifts of 8 hours between 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to step up into a leadership role. You will combine working in ratio with the children with time out of ratio for aspects of the SENCO role. As we are a small group of 3 nurseries, we can offer really personalised mentoring to help the right person train in to this role.
We are looking for a practitioner with experience of supporting children with additional needs.
You must be L3 qualified, but we can support you to gain the L3 SENCO qualification if you are interested.
Good communication skills with children, parents and colleagues are required as well as the ability to guide a busy, thriving team in ensuring all children are included and supported to thrive.
Successful applicants will also actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are observed at all times.
The Mornington House staff are a friendly, enthusiastic, established team who are loved and valued by the children and parents we support and care for. Mornington House is part of Bristol Childcare, a family run business operating in Bristol for over 50 years. The nursery has been created from two former houses making it a really homely nursery and thriving community.
Applicants must have a good level of education and at least a L3 childcare qualification that is “full and relevant”. A SENCO qualification would be welcome but is not essential.
We offer
A salary of £31,250 and contributory pension.
Up to 28 days’ holiday entitlement including bank holidays (increasing to 31 after 2 years).
Sick pay after 3 years of service.
