Our busy Paint Shop has an opportunity for someone to join the team. Although experience in a similar role would be an advantage, we will also consider anyone looking to take their first step on the career ladder, or thinking about a career change. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn powder coating and painting skills, and to develop within the business, as the Company encourages and supports upskilling and cross-training. If you have strong attention to detail, good physical stamina and the ability to work on manual tasks for extended periods, and can work independently as well as part of a team, this may just be the role for you.
Key duties and responsibilities :
- Prepare metal surfaces and fabricated assemblies for painting or powder coating, by shotblasting, cleaning, degreasing and sanding.
- Use various hand and power tools to smooth and prepare surfaces.
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections and address as needed.
- Collaborate with paint and powder coating teams to ensure that items are properly prepared for coating.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Follow health and safety procedures and use PPE when handling chemicals and using equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards, adhering to the Company’s ISO9001 quality management system.
- Maintain accurate records of prepared materials.

Basic Working Hours : Monday to Friday (42 hours per week)

Licences/Certification :
- Forklift (preferred - but full training will be provided to the right candidate).
Rate of Pay : Starting at £12.85 per hour - depending on experience.
