This post requires the successful candidate in the identification and support of people with Neurodevelopmental disorders. You will directly provide, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions for people whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted upon by the presence of a neurodevelopmental disorder and or impacted by other mental health conditions

Main duties of the job
- The Post Holder will support the lead in the identification and support of people with Neurodevelopmental Disorders, including Autism, Attention deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with designated individuals.
- To directly provide, and support others to offer adapted psychosocial interventions for people whose communication, thinking style and coping strategies are impacted upon by the presence of a Neurodevelopmental Disorder.
- Have grounded and evidence based understanding of other mental health conditions that will impact on an individuals inclusion
- To support the management in holding a caseload of people who are identified to have needs associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and require reasonable adjustments to be made to their everyday living.
- To advocate for people with neurodevelopmental disorders within a community sector and promote best practice and the safety and wellbeing of all individuals that use the organisation services.
- Be adaptable to every day needs and where required to support others that require support in living in community sectors
- To collaborate with other practitioners, in similar roles, working in other sectors in improving everyday experiences.
- To be supported by your clinical lead to improve the outcomes of people with Neurodiversity needs served by the organisation.
- To foster and maintain the high standards of care through duty of care and that of professional boundaries.
- Support the management of complex service users interactions including delivering information that may be unexpected or poorly received. The post holder must be confident in managing service users that may become verbally abusive or challenging in physical nature
- The post holder must have excellent literacy skills and communication and documentation is a necessity for this role.
- The post holder must hold a national qualification at Level 3 minimum with at least five years experience of supporting others with Neurodiverse Disorders.
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care, medication administration, and mobility support.
- Apply principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to encourage positive behaviors and skill development.
- Support educational activities aligned with special education strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor progress and document behavioral changes, challenges, and achievements accurately.
- Foster a safe, respectful environment that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.

Experience
- Prior experience working with adults or individuals with disabilities is essential with evidence of at least five years.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and their practical application.
- Experience working specifically with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Background in special education or related fields that support developmental needs.
- Ability to administer medication safely following prescribed protocols.
- Strong patient care skills combined with empathy, patience, and excellent communication abilities.
- Hold a national qualification at level 3 or above in ASD adult care
