Child-to-Parent Abuse (CPA) Practitioner Assistant
Location: Shrewsbury, hybrid
Hours: 10 hours per week
Salary: £13/hour
Contract length: 24 months fixed term contract starting in September
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and organised individual to join our team as a Practitioner Assistant.
This role is about supporting our Child-to-Parent Abuse (CPA) Practitioners to ensure parents and carers receive timely, high-quality support. You'll play an important role in managing referrals, coordinating communication with families, providing day-to-day administrative support, and helping deliver workshops and practical resources for parents.
Our service is focused entirely on supporting parents and carers experiencing abuse from their children (we do not provide direct support to children or young people).
You don't need previous experience in counselling or domestic abuse services - we provide full training and ongoing support. What matters most is that you are IT proficient, organised, compassionate, proactive, and enjoy helping people behind the scenes as well as working directly with families.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in family support, administration within the third sector.
Key Responsibilities
You'll receive full training to carry out the following:
- Manage the triage process by processing new referrals and ensuring families receive timely responses.
- Coordinate referrals and support parents through the initial stages of accessing our service.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Practitioner team.
- Maintain accurate records, referral information, and administrative systems.
- Help prepare resources, presentations, and materials for workshops and group sessions.
- Co-deliver workshops and parent information sessions alongside Practitioners.
- Support the development and updating of practical resources for parents and carers.
- Assist with diary management, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings where required.
- Contribute to data collection, outcomes monitoring, and reporting.
- Take part in regular team meetings, supervision, and training.
- Represent PEGS at events or meetings where appropriate.
