Dance Coach
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and passionate Dance Coach to join our growing coaching team at Varney's Dance Academy in South Wigston.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build a thriving children's dance programme within a well-established family activity centre. We are looking for someone who enjoys inspiring children, building confidence and making every class fun, engaging and memorable.
Whether your background is street dance, commercial, freestyle, contemporary, jazz or general children's dance, we'd love to hear from you.
As our dance programme continues to grow, there will be opportunities to increase coaching hours and progress into a Lead Dance Coach role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging dance classes for preschool and school-age children plus.
- Plan enjoyable sessions suitable for different ages and abilities.
- Teach routines while developing rhythm, coordination and confidence.
- Create a positive, inclusive and encouraging environment.
- Build great relationships with children and parents.
- Prepare and set up equipment where required.
- Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
- Work alongside the management team to grow the dance programme.
- Support performances, showcases and special events where appropriate.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Experience teaching or coaching dance.
- Passion for working with children.
- Friendly, energetic and enthusiastic personality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Professional attitude.
- Able to motivate and encourage young people.
Desirable
- Dance teaching qualification (ISTD, IDTA, BTDA or equivalent).
- Experience teaching preschool dance.
- First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding training.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
