Location
We have several HGV Class 1 night driver vacancies available from our Ipswich depot.
About the HGV Driver Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and delivery of palletised freight across the UK. The role involves transporting commercial freight, ensuring all loads are secured correctly and delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing scheduled freight deliveries and collections.
- Some manual handling may be required using an electric pump truck
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
- Ensuring loads are secured and transported in line with safety requirements.
- Following all road transport legislation, including drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
- Communicating effectively with depots, customers, and transport teams.
- Providing a professional and reliable service representing FTS and our partners.

- £40,000 basic annual salary.

Shift Pattern
- Night driving positions available.
- Various start times: 15:30 to 19:00.
- Contracted shifts are 10 hours
- Overtime paid after 10 hours
- Operates on a job-and-finish basis.
- 45-minute break not included within contracted hours.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking professional HGV drivers who demonstrate:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety and transport legislation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused approach.
- Experience in palletised freight, trunking, or general haulage is desirable.
