Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Complete ad hoc delivery runs across various locations, maintaining punctuality and professionalism at all times
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, ensuring safety during transit and delivery
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and report any issues promptly
- Follow all traffic laws and company procedures to ensure safe and efficient journeys
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each assignment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate routes and address any logistical challenges
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven 2yrs minimum experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles and delivery operations
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes or the ability to adapt quickly
- Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or in roles involving commercial driving is highly desirable
