Production Planner
Location: Stowmarket – Suffolk
Working Pattern: Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00am – 4:00pm
Pay Rate: £13.46 – £14.42 per hour
Contract: Temporary, 3 months
We are currently recruiting for a Production Planner to join a busy food production environment on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on planning role where you will work closely with the production team to manage the daily production plan, respond to changes in performance and ensure workloads are effectively scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and amend daily production plans based on customer orders and operational requirements.
- Work closely with the production team to review actual performance and adjust plans accordingly.
- Create pick lists and monitor production progress throughout the day.
- Identify and respond to changes, delays or issues that may impact the production plan.
- Ensure materials and resources are planned and available to support production.
- Monitor production output and progress against targets.
- Maintain accurate information across internal planning and ERP systems.
- Produce relevant reports and planning information as required.
- Liaise with production and other internal teams to ensure the plan is delivered effectively.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, hygiene and housekeeping.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in production planning, scheduling or a similar role, ideally within food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and HLOOKUPs.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work confidently with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
