Circles Network is looking for a caring, motivated and creative Education Assistant to join our Alternative Education Provision in Peterborough.

The role
As an Education Assistant, you will support the delivery of inclusive, person centred learning programmes within Circles Academy projects.
You will work closely with young people who may have experienced barriers to mainstream education, supporting them to feel safe, valued and motivated to learn. You will help create a calm, engaging learning environment that supports progression, wellbeing and individual aspirations.
There may also be occasional opportunities to support colleagues on other Circles Network projects.
Key responsibilities
Support young people to develop skills, confidence and a positive relationship with learning
Help deliver creative, engaging and person centred learning sessions
Promote independence, self‑esteem and social inclusion
Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people and families
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants at all times
Work in line with safeguarding, health and safety and organisational policies
Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture
Person specification
Qualifications and training
Desirable:
Teaching or education qualification at Level 2 or above
GCSEs in Maths and English at grades nine to four or equivalent
Relevant training in safeguarding, child protection or first aid
Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and basic IT systems
Additional relevant qualifications, specialist skills or interests that enhance the curriculum are welcomed.
A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
Experience
Essential:
Experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs, including autism
A strong commitment to inclusion, equality and person‑centred practice
Experience of supporting young people who may be anxious, disengaged or have had negative experiences of education
Safeguarding
Circles Network is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and potentially vulnerable people. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and the receipt of three satisfactory references.

Pay: Up to £24,785.00 per year
