Bartender – Drawing Room Bar, Margate House
We're looking for a bartender to join the team at the Drawing Room Bar.
Tucked inside Margate House, the Drawing Room is a neighbourhood bar with a love of good drinks, good music and making people feel looked after. Think classic cocktails done properly, interesting wines, cold beers, and a warm, friendly service style.
We're after someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality. You'll be confident behind the bar, calm when things get busy, and know that great service isn't about being overly formal – it's about reading the room, remembering the details and creating an atmosphere people want to come back to.
This role is not just about staying behind the bar. We're a multi-faceted business, so you'll be speaking with and greeting hotel guests, you will also be welcoming people who are looking to come to Willy's for food.
What you'll be doing:
- Preparing and serving cocktails, wines, beers and spirits to a consistently high standard
- Delivering warm, knowledgeable and attentive service
- Building rapport with regulars and welcoming new faces
- Keeping the bar clean, organised and stocked throughout service
- Completing opening and closing procedures
- Working closely with the wider Margate House team to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Using multiple systems (hotel booking, POS till, restaurant booking systems) to assist guests during their stay at Margate House
- Helping maintain high standards of presentation and hospitality
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous bartending experience (cocktail experience is a bonus)
- Loves looking after people and takes pride in great service
- Works well under pressure and keeps a cool head during busy shifts
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is reliable, positive and a genuine team player
- Is available to work evenings and weekends
