We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Exotic Veterinary Haematologist to join our dynamic team. About the Role
As an Exotic Haematologist, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our diagnostic laboratory. This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in the day-to-day running of the diagnostic laboratory.
- Reading and interpreting blood film morphology across a wide range of exotic species, including small mammals, birds and reptiles.
- Troubleshooting diagnostic analysers and resolving technical issues.
- Problem-solving workflow and turnaround-time challenges to ensure an efficient and reliable service.
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a focus on minimising errors.
- Contributing to continuous process and service improvements.
- Following established quality assurance procedures and SOPs.
- Working closely with other departments to coordinate laboratory activities and resolve issues effectively.
- Supporting excellent standards of customer service and communication.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Laboratory experience with haematology testing methods, including blood smear evaluation, automated analyzers, and specialized staining techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot laboratory issues efficiently.
- Excellent blood film morphology and interpretation skills.
- Experience working with samples from a variety of exotic species.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach.
- Good customer service skills.
