We are currently working with a well-established secondary school in Basingstoke who are seeking an experienced Exams Officer to join their dedicated team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who can confidently manage the demands of a busy examinations environment and ensure that all examination processes run smoothly and efficiently.
The Role
As Exams Officer, you will take responsibility for the administration and coordination of internal and external examinations, ensuring that all procedures are carried out accurately and in accordance with awarding body regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating GCSE and other external examinations
- Managing exam entries, amendments and results
- Preparing examination timetables, rooms and candidate arrangements
- Liaising with awarding bodies and examination personnel
- Ensuring examination regulations and procedures are followed
- Recruiting, briefing and coordinating exam invigilators
- Maintaining accurate and confidential examination records
- Managing the secure receipt, storage and distribution of examination materials
- Supporting students and staff with examination-related queries
- Coordinating results days and post-results processes
About You
The successful candidate will be:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing deadlines and competing priorities
- Calm and professional under pressure
- An excellent communicator
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider school team
- Experienced in examinations or school administration
- Familiar with examination regulations and awarding body requirements
Previous experience working as an Exams Officer is highly desirable. However, candidates with strong administrative experience and an understanding of the education environment may also be considered.
