Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teacher with Level 5 qualification or QTS to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality early childhood education within a nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Manage daily classroom routines, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills by supervising support staff and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of high standards.
- Build effective communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on children’s progress and behaviour.
- Monitor and assess individual children's progress, maintaining accurate records and planning next steps accordingly.
- Foster positive behaviour through consistent boundaries, encouragement, and modelling appropriate social skills.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children by following the nursery's Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy, reporting any concerns immediately in line with statutory guidance, and ensuring compliance with the EYFS Statutory Framework and all safeguarding requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursery or early years setting by participating in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent qualification recognised for QTS eligibility.
- Proven experience working with young children within a nursery or early years environment.
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and support team development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with children, parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures, health & safety standards, and EYFS requirements.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles requiring travel between multiple settings or community engagement activities.
