Shop Assistant / Assistant Manager

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and flexible person to assist the manager with the day-to-day running of our shop.
The successful applicant will need to be confident in stepping into the manager’s role when required, including covering holidays and other absences.
Duties will include:
- Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
- Working as part of a friendly team
- Setting up the shop
- Preparing sandwiches
- Cleaning and maintaining the shop
- Cashing up
- Ordering stock
- Maintaining stock lists and records
- Supporting the manager with the general running of the shop
- Being flexible to cover staff holidays and sickness when required
Working Hours
Hours alternate weekly, with one week of mornings followed by one week of afternoons.
Week 1 – 37.5 hours
- Monday: 8:00am–1:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:00am–1:30pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am–4:30pm
- Thursday: 8:00am–1:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am–1:30pm
- Saturday: 8:00am–3:30pm
Week 2 – 26 hours
- Monday: 12:00pm–4:30pm
- Tuesday: 12:00pm–4:30pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am–4:30pm
- Thursday: 12:00pm–4:30pm
- Friday: 12:00pm–4:30pm
Alternate Saturdays off, provided the shop is fully staffed.
Rate of pay: £13.21 per hour
