Who are we?
Laggan has been the home of the McConchie family for 5 generations. We are a family run business in a magnificent rural location in the South of Scotland. In 2007, Duncan led the farm’s diversification with the build of Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre. What started as archery in a cow shed has transformed into a rural destination of excellence where people can spend time with their friends and family, whether that is enjoying a getaway, celebrating a wedding, or enjoying a meal out together. We are greatly honoured to have the privilege of continuing the McConchie legacy and believe that it is our family values and ethos that has contributed to our success.
Job Purpose
Duncan & Vicki McConchie have worked tirelessly to grow the business at Laggan into an all-year-round Destination of Excellence. In 2016 they opened 8 Sea View Snugs, in 2017 added a further 2 and then an additional 8 were added in 2019 along with a 2-bed cottage, Cairnharrow and 3 bed house, Laggan Behind being recently added to the property portfolio. These properties now allow for up to 51 people to stay on site. We have also recently added a local hotel to our business which will be open in Spring 2023 and will consist of 14 double ensuite bedrooms. As the business capacity has grown, so too has the role of the management of the accommodation and we are now looking for someone with a track record in holiday lettings, to drive this side of the business forward and proactively promote and manage them.
Duties and Responsibilities
To ensure the smooth and efficient running of our holiday property portfolio of all on site accommodation, from 1st point of customer interaction to follow up once the customer has left after their stay.
Systems - Ensure the booking system is 'fit for purpose' and that it allows for a seamless booking process for customer & colleagues. Oversee all bookings, making sure customers payments are managed efficiently. Ensure systems are in place for the cleaning team, reception team etc so they know what to do and when and how to do it and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and licensing laws for the different property types.
Housekeeping team – Ensure all properties are prepared and ready for customer arrival.
Occupancy levels - Manage, record & exceed levels. Forecast gaps in occupancy & methods to fill. Manage all promotions to ensure that discounting only happens outside core periods. Develop seamless booking process for discount vouchers.
Bookings - along with the reception team, deal with bookings in person over the phone, face to face or via email in a timely manner.
