Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a wide range of dishes, maintaining consistency and quality standards
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high performance
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines
- Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health regulations
- Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to minimise waste and control costs
- Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating innovative ideas while respecting established standards
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive food preparation, cooking, and culinary experience across diverse cuisines
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential; serving experience is advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
