- Full time positions (47.5 hours per week - 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday)
- Part time options (27 hours per week - 8am to 5.30pm over 3 day set pattern or 36 hours per week - 8am to 5.30pm over 4 day set pattern)
Purpose of job

· To implement the daily routine within the nursery.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Contribute to the implementation of the EYFS and plan activities that are appropriate for the children in collaboration with the Nursery Supervisors and other staff.
· Have a full understanding of the nursery’s record keeping and key person system: (i) Record observations of development for all children.
(ii) Collate evidence into your key children’s learning journey.
(iii) Transfer achievements into their development profile.
· Assist in the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds and stages of development.
· Share in the responsibility of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in the nursery.
· Supervise children at play both indoors and outdoors, encouraging purposeful play.
· Be responsible for the care, maintenance and security of all equipment/toys within the nursery.
· Liaise with parents and encourage involvement in all aspects of their children’s care and development.
· Be responsible for creating an attractive and stimulating nursery.
· Respect the confidentiality of information received.
· Assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery, ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times. Prepare snacks/meals and complete routine cleaning of equipment.
· Be secure with all emergency and security procedures eg. fire drill
· Be aware of and adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.
· Be prepared to work towards the current recognised childcare qualifications and undertake additional training deemed suitable for the fulfilment of the role in the nursery.
· Participate in self development activities including appraisals.
· Attend regular staff meetings and parent’s evenings.
· Develop positive relationships with all other staff working within the nursery.
· Be aware of the high profile of the nursery and uphold its standards at all times.
Specific child care tasks
· Help children with feeding, changing clothes, toileting etc...
· Operate the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness with bedding, nappy changing areas and food areas.
· Ensure the cleanliness of children at all times.
· Ensure that mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.
· Report any signs of illness, neglect or apparently non accidental injury.
· Ensure each child is dropped off/collected in accordance with the nursery drop off/collection procedure and that registers are completed within 10 minutes by the member of staff who receives/hands over the child.
· Record accidents on the appropriate form ensuring a senior member of staff has initialled the report before the parent receives it.
