Job Overview
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Meta and Google Media Buyer to join our growing team.
You’ll be responsible for planning, managing, optimising and scaling paid advertising campaigns across multiple client accounts.
This is not a role focused purely on impressions, clicks or other vanity metrics. We want someone who understands how paid media contributes to lead generation, customer acquisition, revenue and profitable business growth.
You must be comfortable managing significant advertising budgets and making confident, commercially informed decisions that directly affect client performance.
About Social Growth Advisors
Social Growth Advisors is a growing full-service marketing agency focused on delivering a measurable return on investment for our clients.
Fintech is where we started, but we now support ambitious businesses across a range of industries through paid advertising, content, social media, email marketing, CRM systems, automation and strategy.
We work with multi-seven-figure businesses and manage accounts with six-figure monthly advertising spend.
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Build, manage and optimise paid campaigns across Meta and Google.
- Take ownership of campaign performance and client advertising budgets.
- Identify winning campaigns, audiences, creatives and offers, then scale them confidently.
- Recognise ad fatigue, declining performance and wasted spend early.
- Pause or remove poor-performing ads quickly rather than allowing unnecessary spend to continue.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of new creative tests and replacement ads.
- Move budget towards the campaigns producing the strongest commercial return.
- Test audiences, messaging, offers, creatives, landing pages and campaign structures.
- Work closely with the creative team to develop new ads based on performance data.
- Use CRM, attribution and sales data to understand which campaigns generate valuable customers.
- Review the complete customer journey, from the first advert through to lead quality, conversion and revenue.
- Produce clear weekly and monthly reports covering what is working, what is not and what happens next.
- Communicate opportunities, concerns and recommendations clearly to clients and the wider team.
- Ensure all campaigns comply with platform policies and industry requirements.
The Approach We Expect
We’re looking for a decisive, commercially driven Media Buyer who takes action.
When something is working, we expect you to scale it with confidence and control. When an ad is fatigued, underperforming or wasting budget, we expect you to act quickly.
You should be able to make evidence-based decisions without being reckless or allowing poor performance to continue unnecessarily.
We want someone who will:
- Scale winners.
- Cut wasted spend.
- Anticipate ad fatigue.
- Keep new tests ready.
- Protect client budgets.
- Focus on revenue and profitability.
- Treat client advertising spend as if it were their own money.
We’re not looking for someone who simply knows which buttons to press in Meta Ads Manager. We’re looking for someone who understands how to grow businesses.
Lead Generation and CRM Knowledge
A strong understanding of lead generation and CRM management is essential.
You should understand that a low-cost lead is not always a valuable lead. We care about what happens after someone completes a form, books a call or enters a client’s CRM.
You’ll be expected to understand and review:
- Lead quality and buying intent.
- Cost per qualified lead.
- Lead-to-appointment conversion rates.
- Appointment attendance rates.
- Lead-to-customer conversion rates.
- Sales pipeline value.
- Speed and quality of lead follow-up.
- Where leads are being lost.
- How landing pages, forms and offers affect conversion.
- How CRM automation and nurturing can improve results.
- Which campaigns, channels and creatives generate actual revenue.
You should be comfortable working with CRM systems such as HubSpot or similar platforms and using sales data to improve advertising decisions.
You must also understand attribution software such as Hyros or similar solutions and recognise that Meta and Google do not always provide the complete picture.
Experience We’re Looking For
You should have:
- Strong, proven experience managing Meta Ads.
- Strong, proven experience managing Google Ads.
- Experience managing and scaling significant advertising budgets.
- Experience generating leads, customers and revenue through paid media.
- Experience within fintech or another high-risk, heavily regulated industry.
- A strong understanding of advertising compliance and platform restrictions.
- Experience using CRM and sales pipeline data.
- Experience using Hyros or similar attribution software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Confidence presenting results, challenges and recommendations to clients.
You must be able to demonstrate how your media buying has contributed to wider commercial success, including improvements in revenue, customer acquisition and profitability.
The Metrics That Matter
We’re interested in client results, not vanity metrics.
You should be confident discussing and improving:
- Revenue generated.
- Return on advertising spend.
- Marketing efficiency ratio.
- Customer acquisition cost.
- Cost per acquisition.
- Cost per qualified lead.
- Lead-to-customer conversion rate.
- Lead quality.
- Sales pipeline value.
- Average order or customer value.
- Customer lifetime value.
- Campaign profitability.
- Landing-page and funnel conversion rates.
- Advertising spend scaled profitably.
Reach, impressions, clicks, click-through rate and cost per click still matter, but only when they help explain or improve the client’s wider commercial results.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an A-player who:
- Takes full ownership of their accounts.
- Thinks commercially and focuses on client results.
- Is confident managing significant budgets.
- Makes clear and timely decisions.
- Identifies problems early and recommends solutions.
- Understands when to scale and when to protect client spend.
- Communicates honestly and directly.
- Works well with creative, CRM, email and strategy teams.
- Is organised, reliable and accountable.
- Shares knowledge and supports colleagues.
- Continuously looks for ways to improve.
- Cares about the success of both the client and the agency.
We want someone who can respectfully challenge ideas, explain their reasoning and contribute to the wider marketing strategy—not someone who simply waits for instructions.
How Success Will Be Measured
Performance will be assessed through:
- Client revenue growth.
- Campaign profitability and return on investment.
- Quality of leads and customers generated.
- Improvements in acquisition costs and conversion rates.
- Effective management and scaling of client budgets.
- Speed of response to poor performance and ad fatigue.
- Quality and consistency of campaign testing.
- Accuracy and usefulness of reporting.
- Client satisfaction and retention.
- Communication, reliability and ownership.
- Collaboration with the wider agency team.
What You’ll Receive
- A monthly contractor fee of £2,500–£5,000, based on experience and proven ability.
- Remote working with approximately two London office days per month.
- The opportunity to manage high-value accounts and significant advertising budgets.
- Exposure to multi-seven-figure businesses.
- The opportunity to influence wider client strategy.
- Support from creative, content, email, CRM and account management specialists.
- Genuine progression opportunities as the agency grows.
- A collaborative team environment that values performance, accountability and shared success.
