Part-time delivery driver
Job description
We are looking for a PART-TIME delivery driver, for our busy WORCESTER branch. Transporting goods between depots, building up machines and delivering garden machinery including ride-on tractors within a 100-mile radius from WORCESTER. Will be required to help occassionally pick and pack in our warehouse during the busy season.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, enjoy dealing with customers and work well as part of the sales team.
You must be numerate with a pleasant & courteous manner and a team player.
Interested applicants should have an interest in and knowledge of garden machinery, with experience operating a wide range of machinery while being mechanically minded.
The job would be suited to someone who is retired, who is looking for part time work.
Previous experience using a wide range of machines is essential but product training will be given.
A full driving licence is essential. Applicants need to be 25 years +
Part-time hours to be discussed. Days would be 3-4 days a week.
Working days would be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8.30am-5.30pm, additional days will be available during the busy season.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial van to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo, which may involve heavy lifting
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role
- Ability to handle and transport heavy items as needed
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures is a plus
