We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Lunchtime Assistant to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in supporting their wellbeing and development during lunchtime.
About the Role
As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will help ensure that children have a safe, enjoyable and well-supervised lunchtime. You will encourage positive behaviour, support children's independence and help maintain a calm and welcoming environment.
You will work closely with colleagues to ensure children's safety and wellbeing while promoting positive social interactions and healthy eating habits.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children during lunchtime and play periods.
- Support children with their meals where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour and good manners.
- Promote safe and inclusive play both indoors and outdoors.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies and procedures.
- Report any concerns regarding children's welfare, behaviour or safety to the appropriate member of staff.
- Work effectively as part of the wider team.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- A caring, patient and positive attitude.

- Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child welfare.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Desirable
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience within a nursery, school or childcare setting.
- Basic First Aid knowledge.
