Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our accountancy firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial data entry, and assisting with bookeeping, compliance and basic taxes fillings. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Managing client queries and helping them on payment of their relevant taxes on time.
- Manage accounts receivable, including processing invoices and ensuring timely payments chase.
- Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Excel or Xero.
- Assit the accounting team in VAT return prepartion for clients
- Assit the payroll team with Monthly payroll report and client inquiries
- Bank reconciliation and helping producing the statutory report
- Assist client in a wide range of queries.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures under supervision
- Reconcile accounts and maintain organised financial records
- Utilise systems microsoft 365, work management softwares.
- Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information at all times
- Assist in preparing reports and summaries as required by management
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or PeopleSoft is highly desirable
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial documentation
- Basic understanding of financial services industry practices is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience using systems like Workday or similar ERP platforms is a plus

Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
