Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to patients in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist with daily personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support patients with mobility and movement, ensuring safety at all times
- Help in the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to individual dietary requirements
- Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in patient condition
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Support with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive patients to appointments or outings when required, maintaining safe driving practices
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to minimise risks for patients and staff
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving patient transportation
- Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping purposes
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards patients
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
