We are looking to recruit a Project and Business Development Officer to join our Economy and Regeneration Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team delivering the Ceredigion Economic Strategy 2020–2035, helping people, places and enterprises across Ceredigion to thrive and grow.
The main focus of the role will be to manage and deliver the Local Growth Fund and Pride in Place Impact Fund programmes in Ceredigion. If you have experience in project management, economic development in business, tourism or community enterprise, this could be the opportunity for you.
You will play a central role in motivating Ceredigion’s communities and businesses to develop knowledge and skills, innovate, collaborate and respond to local challenges. The work is varied and evolving, so we are looking for someone who can think creatively, respond positively to challenges and identify practical solutions.
You will help shape the future of communities across the county while supporting the Council’s ambition to create thriving, people-centred and resilient towns. You will be expected to maintain a visible local profile, build positive relationships with local people and support places to develop in ways that meet community needs and aspirations.
Day to day, you will:
Coordinate, facilitate and manage the delivery of the Local Growth Fund and Pride in Place Impact Fund to support and regenerate Ceredigion’s businesses, communities and town centres.
Facilitate engagement, involvement and mentoring with a range of businesses, community and public sector organisations to support the development of their activities.
Work with local organisations and businesses to identify and access funding opportunities that meet their needs.
Develop and implement monitoring systems to ensure compliance with funding scheme requirements.
We are looking for someone with:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build constructive working relationships with individuals and organisations in the community, public and private sectors.
Experience of managing and delivering projects.
The ability to think innovatively and strategically.
Experience of partnership working and developing collaborative opportunities.
Communication and presentation skills appropriate for a range of audiences.
Enthusiasm for community-based activity and local regeneration.
The ability to work flexibly, use your own initiative and take a proactive approach.

Economy and Regeneration
We play a fundamental role in the delivery of the Council’s key Corporate Strategy objective that seeks to boost the economy of the County and the Mid Wales region. We are organised into three main sections: Economy, Planning and Property Services. Our primary functions include:
