Job Summary
Day to day responsibility for the cleaning and care of the Community and College of the Resurrection and its contents.
There could be occasion where you may be required to perform other duties or tasks outside of your defined role to support other departments / team members, this will be by reasonable request only.
Key Result Areas
The post holder shall:
- Carry out cleaning and day to day care of College buildings and guest rooms.
- Assist with the cleaning of offices, classrooms and public areas throughout the Community and College.
- Replenish stock.
- Be vigilant at all times as to the presence and the condition of all the contents of the Collegeand report immediately to the Housekeeper any items missing, damaged or showing any signs of deterioration or in need of specialist treatment.
- Working as a team with the other cleaners to follow a cleaning programme and help with the efficient running of housekeeping routines.
- Ensure that storage areas are regularly cleaned and kept tidy.
- Ensure that cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Vacuum and clean all the floor areas used by the public and to dust all flat surfaces as necessary to maintain a well cared for appearance to show rooms.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge:
- General housekeeping and knowledge of cleaning techniques.
- Computer literate (willing to undertake training on the computerised booking system).
Skills:
- General knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
- Work in a methodical manner.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to work alone and on their own initiative.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a sometimes pressurised environment.
- A conscientious, flexible and ‘can do’ working style and attitude.
