Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our on-site team in Immingham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding sheet metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in fabrication processes. The successful applicant will work in a on-site environment, utilising various tools and techniques to produce high-quality metal products.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Perform MMA welding and other welding techniques to join metal parts securely
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to shape and modify materials
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations to ensure accuracy in fabrication processes
- Operate and maintain welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist in the setup of fabrication projects, including cutting, drilling, and fitting parts together
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during operations
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience with MMA welding, welding, and general welding techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Strong understanding of metal work and assembly processes
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations required in fabrication tasks
- Experience with the use of various hand tools and power tools in a site setting
- Ability to work accurately under supervision while maintaining high standards of quality
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical capability to handle materials, operate equipment safely, and perform manual tasks as required
