Help bring joy, laughter and meaningful moments to people living with dementia through creative and engaging activities.
An Activity Angel will deliver sessions in various locations in and around Wellington including:
- Flexercise
- Group games
- Indoor sports
- Arts and crafts
- Themed activity sessions
- Reminiscence activities
Equipment provided.
Enhanced DBS check required
Skills
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is preferred, especially in senior care or dementia support
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques for caring for individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Compassionate approach with patience, empathy, and understanding towards older adults
- Ability to organise activities independently while working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Creativity in designing stimulating programmes that cater to diverse needs and interests
- Excellent organisational skills to plan, execute, and evaluate activities effectively
