We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Specialist to join our growing IT team. You'll play a key role in managing, maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure and systems, while mentoring junior team members and driving best practices across the organisation.
Working closely with Operations, Security and wider business teams, you'll help ensure our IT systems are secure, reliable and able to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and endpoint devices.
- Lead technical decisions relating to IT systems, security and infrastructure upgrades.
- Provide third-line technical support, resolving complex incidents and escalations.
- Review system changes and mentor junior IT staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new projects and system rollouts.
- Troubleshoot IT issues and implement long-term, sustainable solutions.
- Maintain and improve backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Champion IT security, system performance and compliance with best practices.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- 5+ years' commercial experience in IT support, systems administration or infrastructure roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and networking fundamentals.
- Experience managing cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure or AWS.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, ITIL, etc.).
- Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python).
- Knowledge of endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM).
- Experience with VoIP, telephony or unified communications systems.
- Experience mentoring team members or leading IT projects.
