Job Summary

Duties
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments are received in accordance with agreed credit terms
- Conduct regular analysis of overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts effectively
- Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email, or telemarketing techniques to follow up on outstanding balances
- Record all payment activities accurately using accounting software and perform data entry with precision
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to reconcile discrepancies and resolve billing issues promptly
- Maintain comprehensive records of collection activities, payment histories, and correspondence
- Assist in processing invoices and supporting documentation to facilitate smooth financial transactions
Experience
- Proven experience in credit control or a related financial role within the financial services industry
- Experience within the transport, haulage, automotive, commercial vehicle, HGV or trailer repair sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify collection priorities
- Familiarity with accounting software platforms and data entry procedures
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with clients professionally
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and invoice management
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
