Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our team. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for various duties including inventory management, picking and packing orders, and ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse.
Duties:
- Assist with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock.
- Sort and place materials or items onto racks and shelves
- Collect items from throughout the warehouse to prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup.
- Perform warehouse inventory controls, stock counting, and location checks using a computer.
- Operate heat press machinery for customer garment orders.
- Prepare and organize stock for vending machine replenishments.
- Assist with the general tidying of the warehouse and the packing/unpacking of deliveries.
There will also be an element of driving with this job when required which will involve:
- Deliver products, goods, and parcels safely and efficiently to designated locations within set timeframes.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer authorization, ensuring all documentation is submitted on time.
- Communicate with customers by phone to update them on delivery times or any changes to their arrival.
- Maintain communication with sales team regarding changes to delivery, routes, or schedules.
- Ensure weekly vehicle checks are carried out and the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained.
- Follow pre-planned routes accurately without deviation
Skills:
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Mechanical knowledge to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Experience with picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory record
