Part-Time Administrator/Receptionist – NHS GP Surgery
We are looking for a skilled, organised, and friendly Receptionist/Administrator to join our busy NHS GP Surgery team.
As the first point of contact for patients—both via triage forms and at reception—you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Manage incoming calls, directing queries and taking accurate messages
- Process triage forms and support patient flow
- Book and manage appointments efficiently
- Carry out general administrative duties, including data entry
- Raising prescriptions (training given)
- Process referral and A & G's (training given)
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion
About You
- Previous experience as a receptionist, ideally within a medical or healthcare setting
- Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple computer systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable using office equipment (e.g. printers, scanners)
- Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable (but not essential)
- Scanning experience is an advantage (training can be provided)
- Working Hours - 20 hours per week
- Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Friday
- Additional hours to be worked to cover annual leave and sickness
- Start Date - As soon as possible.
