The Role
We are seeking a motivated Primary Teaching Assistant to join the school for the first academic term. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, depending on experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom tasks
- Supporting individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
- Helping deliver phonics, literacy and numeracy activities
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ wellbeing
- Preparing learning materials and contributing to lesson delivery
- Supporting the smooth running of the classroom and wider school environment
This role suits someone who enjoys working closely with children and is keen to contribute to a positive school culture.
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to helping children succeed. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience working with primary‑aged pupils
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient and supportive manner
- Confidence in assisting with core subjects
- A good understanding of safeguarding practices
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in school life
