We are looking for caring, compassionate and hands on people to join our team working at Pine trees, James Backhouse Place, Holgate York, which is a day centre for adults with a Learning/Physical Disability and/or Autism. We deliver person centred/strength-based care while promoting independence and choice as far as is practicable in all daily activities.
Our aim is to give the people you will be supporting as much control over their own lives as possible.
This is a responsible role which is really varied and extremely rewarding. You will need to have good organisational skills and be able to work as part of a Team as well as being able to use your own initiative.
Daily, you may be involved in supporting with the following activities:

Supporting service users with complex health needs
- Coordinating Activities
- Providing Physio exercises with customers
- Assisting in Hydro Pool
- Personal care
- Supporting with medication
- Moving and positioning
- Supporting wheelchair users
- To act as a keyworker and actively participate in and contribute to the person-centred care planning process on a regular basis. Instigate and review care plans/paperwork, guidelines and risk assessments
The role of a Support Worker is invaluable: it is rewarding, complex and challenging and you will play an essential role in providing support and direct care to adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, who may display behaviours that challenge.
Care experience in a professional care setting along with compassion and integrity to treat people with dignity and respect is desirable. Care Certificate training will be available along with the opportunity to work towards level 2/3 qualification in care if you do not already have one.
You will be supported by a line manager, have a thorough induction into your role and also have opportunities for supervision, training and personal development review to support you in the work that you do.

We are looking for the following roles –
Support Worker –37 hours currently working Monday – Friday between 8:45am - 4:09pm
Support Worker- 29.6 hours currently working Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday between 8:45am -4:09pm
