The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patients to provide personal care such as washing and dressing ,preparing meal and administering medication. ensuring that their choices and preferences are met, The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering personalised support with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in home care environments. The job requires the support worker to travel around cambridge and surrounding villages . Visiting clients in their own home , hence a Full UK Driving license is required and access to own car is necessary.
The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering personalised support with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce agitation
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Administer first aid when necessary and respond promptly to emergencies
- Support families by providing updates on patient care and well-being
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home support is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support, hospice care, and senior care best practices
- Experience in caregiving roles involving patient care and medication administration
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques and handling challenging situations
- Practical skills in meal preparation and basic first aid procedures
- Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely and assist with mobility support
- Childcare experience is advantageous for supporting younger clients or family members
