The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality electrical installations, reactive maintenance, and testing. Whether you are working on a large-scale construction site or providing essential repairs for a local business, you will represent the SMK brand through expert craftsmanship and a professional "can-do" attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Install, wire, and connect electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarms, ensuring full compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition).
- Testing & Inspection: Carry out Initial Verifications and Periodic Inspections (EICRs); identify faults and provide clear, concise remedial reports.
- Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to minimise downtime for clients.
- Compliance: Ensure all work is self-certified and documented accurately via digital platforms (e.g., NICEIC or NAPIT software).
- Safety First: Adhere strictly to Health & Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
What You Bring to the Table (Essential)
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent) and AM2.
- Regulations: Current BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) qualification.
- Testing: City & Guilds 2391 (or 2394/2395) in Inspection and Testing is highly desirable.
- Credentials: A valid ECS Gold Card.
- Driving License: Full UK Manual Driving License (with minimal points).
- Experience: Proven experience in Domestic/Commercial/Industrial environments
