The Role
As our Product & Packaging Quality Inspector, you'll play an important role in making sure the products our customers receive meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
Working closely with suppliers and teams across the business, you'll be responsible for inspecting products and packaging, identifying quality concerns, investigating issues, and supporting improvements that help reduce defects, returns, and customer complaints.
This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in maintaining high standards. If you're naturally curious, enjoy getting to the root of issues, and want to make a visible impact on product quality and customer experience, this could be the role for you.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, including:

What You’ll Be Doing
· Carry out detailed inspections of products and packaging against approved specifications and quality standards.
· Assess product quality, functionality, construction, finish, completeness, and packaging suitability.
· Identify, document, and report defects, damage, missing components, non-conformities, and workmanship issues.
· Quarantine non-conforming products and support corrective and preventative actions.
· Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and corrective action logs.
· Monitor recurring quality issues, packaging concerns, and customer complaint trends, escalating significant risks where appropriate.
· Support investigations into product, packaging, supplier, and customer-reported issues, providing evidence-based recommendations.
· Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns and implement sustainable improvements.
· Communicate inspection findings, risks, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
· Support the verification of product safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
· Review product documentation, certifications, and test reports where required.
· Maintain product traceability records and support quality audits.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
· Identify opportunities to improve product quality, packaging performance, inspection processes, and supplier performance.
· Support initiatives aimed at reducing defects, customer complaints, returns, and quality-related costs.
· Contribute to the ongoing development of quality standards, inspection methods, and best-practice processes.
What we’re looking for
Essential
· Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent).
· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, and missing components.
· Ability to assess product quality, packaging effectiveness, and potential transit-related risks.
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities while maintaining accurate records.
· Confident communication skills with the ability to raise concerns and make recommendations constructively.
· A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and colleagues across the business.
Desirable
· Quality-related qualification or training.
· Internal Auditor qualification (e.g. ISO 9001 Internal Auditor) or equivalent.
· Experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Retail, or another product-focused environment.
· Understanding of product safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
· Experience working with overseas suppliers and imported products.
· Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and CAPA.
· Understanding of packaging standards, product protection, and transit requirements.
· Additional language skills, particularly Polish, Russian, Lithuanian, or Latvian.
