We are looking to appoint an experienced Group Catering Manager with a proven track record to deliver the highest standards and food provision to a number of education sites within a Trust of schools. This person will need to be passionate about food and cooking with experience from a range of catering facilities.
You need to be innovative and have a contemporary approach to food. You must be excited about bringing the high street food offer to our customers through our menus, theme days and food concepts.
Duties:
- An ability to lead from the front and motivate the catering teams, actively manage the teams and make a positive contribution to the overall performance of the catering operations
- Hands on role covering the kitchens when required but also providing IT and office support to Catering Managers across the group
- Strong craft skills in both presentation and taste
- Ensure that methods of presentation, production comply with Mellors standards and procedures
- Ensure quality, safety and security levels are maintained to desired standards across both sites
- Strong communications skills with ability to communicate well internally and externally
- Actively involved in menu development and planning to suit the individual schools needs measured through customer and client satisfaction
- Provide a creative approach to menus linking with curriculum and world flavours, accounting for nutritional and calorific values and cultural requirements of the customer base
- Experience of robust stock control and ordering of goods using local supply chain
- Managing income lines, ensuring and maintaining agreed budget profitability including food, sundry and labour costs
- Strong management and leadership skills including team working, and team development maximising talent
- Supervisory or management qualification or equivalent experience in working in a similar environment
- Developing and coaching the teams in order to achieve high performing teams
- Supporting Mellors presentations where required
- Enthusiastic innovative and flexible
- Excellent communication skills at all levels including pupils, client team and stakeholder groups
- Health and safety and food safety knowledge
- Marketing all facilities to full potential
- Ensure full compliance with company and school policies
- Covering units outside your remit may be required

- Experience of working with food previously is required
From time to time, the company may ask you to work outside of your usual location and working hours. Therefore flexibility is a must for this role. You will also be expected to work evening from time to time when covering special functions.
