We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function, ensuring our accounts, payroll, and financial records are accurate, organised, and up to date.
Based at our head office in Draycott, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the business by managing supplier payments, payroll, reconciliations, and monthly accounts. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact while enjoying the autonomy to manage your workload.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work independently. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll liaise with suppliers and colleagues while overseeing all day-to-day finance activities.
The Role:
- Manage accounts Payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Check daily bank transactions.
- Process all invoices.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks).
- Reconcile Balance sheet accounts.
- Managing the appropriate approvals for invoices and supplier service contracts.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Preparation and management of payroll submission and payments.
- Support MD and assist with additional tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 years working experience in the UK is required.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, ideally QuickBooks would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with accounting principles, HMRC riles and accrual-based accounting.
- A friendly proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
