Job Title: Van Mechanic
Salary: £46,800 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday
Location: Oxfordshire
We are seeking an experienced and reliable LCV Mechanic to join a busy workshop maintaining a fleet of vans.
Working as part of a small and dedicated maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are serviced, inspected, and repaired to the highest standards, helping to maximise fleet reliability and ensure compliance with DVSA regulations. The role is primarily focused on light commercial vehicles, with occasional support provided to the HGV Fleet when needed.
Main Duties
- Carry out servicing and repairs in line with company procedures
- Complete maintenance inspections to both company and DVSA standards
- Prepare and present vehicles for MOT
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair methods
- Complete paperwork and maintain accurate service records
- Keep the workshop clean and tools properly stored
- Attend vehicle breakdowns when required
- Road test vehicles to confirm faults or repairs
- Prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Follow all Health and Safety policies and safe working practices
Experience and Requirements
- Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance, Repair and Diagnostics (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with both mechanical and electrical systems
- Welding experience desirable but not essential
- Sound understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act
- Able to work independently with good focus and reliability
- Positive and practical attitude
