Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Machinist - Bench Hand to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing wooden components with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and woodworking machinery to fabricate wooden house panels according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models to ensure accurate production.
- Perform drilling and assembly tasks with attention to detail.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse or workshop setting.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Assist in tooling setup, adjustments, and maintenance of equipment.
- Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with team members on projects involving materials handling, fabrication, and assembly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, woodworking, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with CAD software and working to drawings
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machining
- Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, tooling, and assembly processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Experience in warehouse operations or materials management is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to safety procedures.
