Partnerships Officer
Grade 13 – Salary £28,142 per annum.
Fixed Term until 31/03/2027.
Full time 37 hours per week.
Work base Taunton or Shepton Mallet.

As a Partnerships Officer, you will help bring together a wide range of organisations, community groups, elected members and public sector partners to support better outcomes for residents across Somerset.

Role Purpose
The Partnerships Officer plays an important role in supporting collaboration between Somerset Council and its partners, communities and stakeholders across the county. The post exists to help ensure that engagement activities, partnership programmes and community networks are effectively coordinated, enabling stakeholders to work together to deliver positive outcomes for residents.
By supporting communication, partnership activity, project coordination and community engagement initiatives, the role contributes to stronger local relationships, informed decision-making and the successful delivery of council priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key contact for partnership enquiries and support effective communication with stakeholders across Somerset.
Coordinate and support meetings, events, workshops and engagement activities involving community groups, councils and partner organisations.
Maintain stakeholder information and engagement records to help ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Provide administrative and coordination support for partnership projects, governance activities and service initiatives.
Support financial and operational processes, including monitoring activity, processing documentation and helping to ensure projects run smoothly.
What We're Looking For
Experience building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, partners and community organisations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues, elected members, local councils, voluntary sector organisations and external partners.
Experience coordinating meetings, events, workshops or engagement activities involving multiple stakeholders.
Ability to manage a varied workload, balance competing priorities and work effectively across several projects and workstreams.
Confident in supporting administrative, governance and reporting processes to ensure projects and initiatives are delivered effectively.
Experience maintaining accurate records, stakeholder information and documentation to support effective communication and engagement.
An organised and proactive approach, with strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
Ability to build collaborative working relationships, influence discussions and contribute to positive solutions when working with partners and stakeholders.
Experience supporting financial or operational processes, such as monitoring expenditure, processing documentation or resolving routine queries.
Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and helping communities, partners and stakeholders achieve positive outcomes.

The Partnerships, Locality and Culture Service work with communities, local councils, voluntary organisations and public sector partners to strengthen collaboration across Somerset. The team supports a wide range of engagement, locality and partnership initiatives that help connect people, services and organisations. Together, they play a key role in helping communities thrive and ensuring local voices are heard in shaping services and priorities.

28 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
