Job Summary
Due to new business in 2026, we have an opportunity for a Mobile Electrical Engineer to join our technical team. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical systems across commercial, Industrial and retail type properties managed by Virtual Services Group in the inner London area. The role ensures that all electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory regulations, contractual requirements, and company standards, supporting business performance and client satisfaction.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Operations & Delivery
- Deliver electrical engineering services across commercial sites, including installations, upgrades, inspections, testing, and fault diagnosis.
- Ensure compliance with current electrical standards, regulations, and codes of practice (e.g., BS 7671, Health & Safety legislation).
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and disruption to client operations.
- Oversee commissioning of new systems and verify performance against specifications.
2. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all works are completed in line with statutory obligations, company policies, and client requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation including certification, test reports, and maintenance records.
- Identify risks, implement control measures, and promote a strong safety culture across all activities.
3. Project Support & Coordination
- Provide technical input into commercial projects, refurbishments, and new installations.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Support procurement of materials and services, ensuring value for money and technical suitability.
4. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients regarding electrical systems and compliance.
- Provide clear advice and recommendations to improve system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Build strong working relationships to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, system performance, and operational processes.
- Support innovation and adoption of new technologies aligned with Virtual Facilities Services’ strategic goals.
Personal Skills, Qualities & Attributes:
Qualifications & Certifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent is essential
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Relevant health & safety certification (e.g., ECS, CSCS, IOSH).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Essential
- Proven experience in a commercial electrical engineering environment.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault resolution.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable
- Experience within facilities management or building services.
- Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainable technologies.
- Project coordination or supervisory experience.
