Job description:
To diagnose, repair, and install electrical systems in both new and remanufactured vehicles. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the reliability and performance of our advanced refuse vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose electrical faults and repair wiring systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Repair and replace faulty wiring, lighting, sensors, and control systems in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Install and configure new electrical systems, including lighting, CANbus components, CCTV, weighing systems, and telematics.
- Install and test electrical components and wiring harnesses in vehicles.
- Read, interpret, and work from vehicle wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and engineering instructions and maintain accurate repair records.
- Conduct end-of-line testing and commissioning of electrical components before vehicles leave the workshop.
- Collaborate with engineering, mechanical, and fabrication teams to ensure high-quality vehicle builds and repairs to enhance electrical performance.
- Maintain accurate job records, inspection sheets, and reports in line with RVS’s quality assurance procedures.
- Adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an auto electrician or equivalent electrical role
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and modern diagnostic tools
- NVQ Level 3 in Auto Electrical / Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence preferred

Pay: £39,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
