MGF are currently seeking to recruit a HR Apprentice to join our Human Resources / Learning & Development Team at our Head Office in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the HR / L&D team as we introduce a new way of working and continue to invest in new systems.
This apprenticeship role will initially be focused on Learning & Development, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting training, development and capability-building initiatives across the business. As the apprentice develops their knowledge and skills, they will also gain broader exposure to wider HR activities, providing a strong foundation for a career in Human Resources.
Your main responsibility will be to provide an efficient and effective general administrative service to the HR / L&D team to support how MGF designs and delivers its capability-building solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with pre and post training course administration
- Supporting learning operations, including content creation, coordination, and booking internal and external training courses
- Assisting with processing training records using MGF’s learning management system
- Administration surrounding starters and leavers
- Updating employee records and files, ensuring documents are stored effectively
- Assisting to organise meetings, interviews and training events
- Responding to emails and requests for information
- Providing administrative HR / L&D support, such as preparing documents, taking notes, maintaining records, helping prepare monthly reports, filing, scanning and research
- Dealing with telephone enquiries and routine correspondence
- Gain an awareness and understanding of current HR legislative requirements as well as any proposed or future changes that may affect the Company
MGF is committed to supporting professional development and the successful applicant will be supported in working towards the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, combining practical workplace experience with a recognised HR qualification.
The core skill requirements of this role are:
- Strong Administration and organisation skills.
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade 9-4 or equivalent (including Maths and English).
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Strong IT Skills with a good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Willingness to learn and take up new challenges.
- Self-motivated and be able to work effectively within a team.
