Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable LGV Class 1 Driver to join our growing logistics team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation and delivery of goods, primarily operating flatbed lorries and roll bed vehicles. This role is ideal for an experienced driver who demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, vehicle care, and excellent customer service.
This position includes AM and PM shift patterns, along with day and night tramping work, requiring overnight stays away from home where necessary. Drivers must be flexible and comfortable with long-distance operations while maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance.
LTD (Limited Company) drivers are also welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate LGV 1 flatbed lorries in compliance with all road safety and traffic regulations
- Load and secure cargo appropriately, ensuring safe transportation of goods
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimise efficiency
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Deliver goods to specified locations in a professional and courteous manner
- Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times during driving and loading activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery progress or any unforeseen delays
Qualifications
- Valid LGV 1 (C+E) licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed deliveries
- Knowledge of current road laws and safety regulations within the UK
- Experience with delivery driver roles, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and securing cargo
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late finishes if necessary
