Following a successful local authority Estyn inspection, Bridgend County Borough Council are seeking to employ a skilled and enthusiastic Educational Psychologist to our well established, supportive and highly regarded Educational Psychology Service. The team provides a consultation service to schools and works closely with Inclusion Group colleagues and local authority services to identify needs and support the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children and young adults across the borough. We value collaboration and there are well established multi-disciplinary working arrangements.
This is an exciting time for local authority change and there will be opportunities to operate at a strategic level, to develop specialist interests and to undertake training. Supervision, support, flexible working hours and CPD will be regularly available. We encourage a healthy work-life balance. This is a full-time position but we will also consider applicants seeking part-time employment. We would also welcome applications from Trainee Educational Psychologists who will complete their training this academic year or next and will qualify for 1st September 2026 or 2027 employment.
We require a positive psychologist who is a good communicator with a strong vision for the development of high quality service delivery and is knowledgeable about current practice in educational psychology and additional learning needs.
The post offers an exciting opportunity to input into a committed and talented team of Educational Psychologists.
All practising Educational Psychologists in the UK must be registered with the HCPC.
