Group Chef
Front Room – Café, Bar & Pizza
Barry & Porthcawl, South Wales
About Us
Front Room is a growing independent café, bar, and pizza spot built around great food and genuinely warm hospitality. We’re a close-knit team who take real pride in what we do—big on using quality, UK sourced ingredients whilst supporting other independent businesses.
With Front Room now operating across Barry and Porthcawl, we’re looking for a Group Chef to join us and help lead the food side of the business as we continue to grow.
We care about doing things properly, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Good food, good music, good people and a team that actually enjoys working together. We’ve built a culture that we’re proud of and protecting that as we grow is really important to us.
The Role
This is a hands-on role working across both our Barry and Porthcawl kitchens. You’ll work closely with the management team to make sure the food coming out of both sites is consistently something we’re proud to serve.
You’ll be just as comfortable getting stuck into a busy service as you are working behind the scenes—developing the team, maintaining standards, organising prep and making sure both kitchens have what they need to do a great job.
A big part of the role will be leading and developing our kitchen teams. We want someone who can bring out the best in people, build confidence and create a kitchen environment where people enjoy coming to work whilst still knowing what’s expected of them.
Our Barry kitchen acts as the central prep hub for both sites, so you’ll also oversee the organisation and transportation of stock and prep between Barry and Porthcawl, making sure both sites are set up for success.
