The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) is seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager (Corporate PMO) to join the Corporate Portfolio Management Office (PMO). Your key responsibilities in this role would be to ensure a focus on delivering the priorities of the Mayor by:

Delivering projects from initial concept through to project closure, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and corporate priorities.

Ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and within the agreed scope ensuring benefits & outcomes are realised that deliver the Local Growth Strategy.

Supporting programmes of work delivered by external partners ensuring the MCA delivery framework is adhered to.
We’re looking for dynamic, strategic delivery champions who are passionate about driving complex projects and supporting external programmes within a multi-stakeholder environment.
This is a critical time in our transformation and growth journey, and you’ll be pivotal in helping us achieve our ambitions by:

Supporting external delivery teams and serving as an advisor to ensure compliance with MCA governance and delivery frameworks.

Developing and maintaining meticulous project management products, including PIDs, risk/issue registers, RACI, and business cases.

Ensuring smooth adoption by effectively communicating and socialising project implementation across the MCA.

Completing formal change control processes, maintaining clear auditable records of decisions, approvals, and impacts.

Providing confidence to governance boards that projects remain on track, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.
What you’ll be doing
Are you someone who has the ability to scope and organise projects in a variety of delivery areas (including strategy, operations and transformation) and ultimately always focuses on delivery?
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced Project Manager with at least 2 years of project management experience, holding an APM Project Management Qualification (or equivalent), and a proven track record of delivering complex projects from inception to completion.
